Technology Summit for Advancement of Plastic Industry
1st July 2022

"Rising product demand from the construction, automotive, and electrical and electronics sectors is the key factor driving the market growth.”

Over the past few years, several new trends have emerged which continue to be refined and amplified within the Plastic Industry. New Plastics which are introduced, are not only safe to dispose but are also energy-efficient and emit less toxic radiations. Technology and Innovative minds are shaping up the sector and it is important to understand the recent trends.

In the last five years, India's Plastic Industry has grown tremendously by 13 percent annually and similar growth is expected even in the near future. At present, there are over 50,000 registered plastic processing units, 85-90% of which are small and medium-sized enterprises. The Plastic Industry contributes to almost every daily requirement of a human being whether it is Clothing, Construction, Housing, Automobiles,

Household items, Furniture, Agriculture, Medical Appliances, Horticulture, Irrigation, Packaging, Electronics and Electrical items, etc.
Plastic delivers many direct economic benefits and can contribute to resource efficiency. It reduces food waste by increasing shelf life, and its relative light weight reduces fuel consumption for transporting goods.

The main objective for this summit is to bring the Plastic Industry together to help the development and advancement of the Industry. The event would provide access to innovations and technologies that can revolutionize the way industry manufacture their products.

International Conference on Innovations in Plastic Industry
24th March 2022

As one of the fastest growing sector, plastic industry, in terms of its development, functions not only as a supporting power for national pillar industries and modern hi-tech industries but also an urge to the transformation of traditional industries and adjustment of product structure. At present, India is importing plastic finished good worth Rs. 45,000 crores per annum. The industry is also exporting goods worth Rs. 40,000 crores per annum with just 1.5% of the global market share. Therefore, Indian plastic industry needs to become Atmanirbhar by focussing on import substitution. At the same time, the industry needs to tap the immense global opportunity by enhancing its export growth. To be able to achieve the same, Indian plastic industry needs to step up in to a phase of rapid development of plastic products (speed to market). The international conference is themed by "innovation and development”. Oriented by its high-end, information and international positioning, the conference aims to exchange latest technologies and ideas, new modes and new experience for the development of plastics industry so as to ultimately lead and push forward rapid development of plastics products via use of technologies in the areas of Design, Reverse Engineering and Additive manufacturing.

  1. Educate MSME's in the plastic industry on latest tools and technologies to help develop the plastic products better and faster.
  2. Reduction in overall time to design, develop and rapid roll out of products thereby increase speed to global market.
  3. Access to innovations and technologies that can revolutionize the way MSME's manufacture the products.
